Matrix Metalloproteases(MMPs) are extracellular matrix degrading proteases,which play important role in different pathological conditions including cancer. Inhibition of MMPs is an important therapeutic approach for controlling these diseases, hence we studying the effect of butyrate, dietary derived short chain fattyacid, on MMPs and thus it can be used for anticancer therapy.
