BIOCURE-AGR focused on developing a phyto-nano incorporated wound dressing forburn wound management. As a source of product, the main two raw materials for the wound dressings are easily available waste stuffs such as Punica granatum–(Mathalanarakam) peel extract and the unexploited marine fish skin. Marine waste which was considered as trash can be turned priceless by the creation of nontoxic, biocompatible, cost-effective tissue engineered product with sustained drug delivery. This designed phyto-nano incorporated product, combining traditional knowledge with cutting edge nanotechnology is a ‘Make in India’ concept with ‘bench to bedside’ potential.
