Increased prevalence of antibiotic-resistant strain, worldwide infections, bloodstream infections, Invasive bacterial and fungal infections, medical-device related infections are a major concern now. The lack of new anti-biofilm drugs to combat these problems is the problem faced by the health community. My objective is to identify and develop alternatives to antibiotics that are effective on bacterial biofilm, developed based on ethnobotanical leads. These compounds can be used in combination with existing antibiotics to develop an effective therapeutic strategy and also decrease healthcare costs.
